LIDB Storage

A LIDB database contains subscriber information, such as a 10-digit line number, service provider ID, equipment type (payphone, POTS, etc) and billing Account Owner. Service providers use this data to decide how to respond to a call.

LIDBs house most of the working telephone landlines in North America and contain information ranging from service/operational information to customers' names, payment history indicator and their address (New in 2007). This data is critical to the normal operation of the phone line. Telephone service providers need this information to display names on Caller ID, make credit decisions, ensure appropriate billing and to perform other necessary services that callers take for granted.

Accudata is an active LIDB facility and stores the LIDB information that telephone service providers use to screen collect calls, bill to third parties, accept calling cards and indicate phone types. By providing access to information that came from multiple sources, Accudata gives carriers an alternative to paying their competition for access to their subscriber data. In fact, with the revenue sharing plan, carriers actually make money by storing their data in our LIDB.  Every time a service provider accesses the database, Accudata shares a portion of the fee with our storage customers.

Accudata was the first in the industry to offer virtually real time, online updates to our CNAM or LIDB database. Our customers can change displayed names or call blocks within a few minutes, rather than waiting for up to 30 days. This service is available through a Web browser or as an API.

In addition to our traditional LIDB for landline service, Accudata is building a VoIP LIDB, or VIDB, and a Mobile Information Database, or MIDB, to serve the fast-growing VOIP and wireless markets. Our VIDB and MIDB will (Coming in 2007) perform the same functions and provide the same benefits as a LIDB, but they're customized to allow for the unique needs of these technologies. For example, VoIP uses location addresses instead of traditional phone numbers.
